Urge Your Senators to Vote "NO” on FSC/ETI Bill

The Senate is poised to vote on a bill that would provide more than $10 billion to tobacco growers WITHOUT FDA oversight of tobacco products and WITHOUT even asking the farmers to stop growing tobacco.

The House, by a vote of 280 to 141, gave final approval on this bill last night (Thursday 10/08). Senate backers of the FDA regulation of cigarettes indicated last night that they had not abandoned hope of defeating the gigantic tax bill. 60 Senate votes are needed to block action.
