ASH Urges U.S. Congress to Vote "NO" on FSC/ETI Bill
The U.S. House and Senate are poised to vote on the bill that would provide more than $10 billion to tobacco growers without FDA oversight of tobacco products and without asking the farmers to discontinue tobacco growth.

ASH has sent letters and e-mails to all 535 U.S. Members of Congress and their key legislative staff, urging them to defeat the FSC/ETI bill due to the tobacco buyout amendment attached to it. In addition, ASH asked its membership to contact their Senators and Representatives to also urge them to vote "NO" on this bill.

ASH will continue to oppose a tobacco buyout unless it is part of a package including meaningful FDA oversight of tobacco products.
